Danny got introduced to football today. In a surprising development he played the ball. Lot's of family visiting today and everyone wanted a chance to hold the baby. He was a real trouper through the whole thing. He barely even woke up.
Abby and Molly were really cute with Danny, but Molly doesn't have the attention span required for a sleeping baby.

Everyone, I'd like you to meet Danny
This is Daniel Frank Mitchard, our son. (Wow that feels good to say).
He was born at 7:06 pm on 10/07/2011, he weighed 5 lbs 14 oz at birth, and was 17 3/4 long.
The hospital is progressive enough to allow adoptive parents to room-in with their new babies. We're getting a lot of good, on the job training from the nurses. It's invaluable for a couple of first time parents like us.

One week to go!
If everything goes well, Donna and I will finally start our family next week. Our Birthmother, Julia, is planning to induce labor on the 7th. I'm trying not to get my hopes too high, we've had two connections fall through before this. Still... it's hard not to get a little excited.
